These Terms of Service and Conditions of Sale apply to your use of the Make It Terrain website and to orders placed with us.
Please read these terms carefully before placing an order. By using our website or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

The following policies also apply to orders placed through our website:
Shipping Policy
Returns and Refunds Policy
Privacy Policy
Cookie Policy
These policies should be read alongside these terms.
Where a bespoke quotation, commission agreement or product page contains terms that are specific to that order, those specific terms will take priority if they conflict with these general terms.
3. Eligibility to Place an Order
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order through our website.
By placing an order, you confirm that:
The information you provide is accurate and complete
You are authorised to use the selected payment method
You are purchasing for lawful purposes
You have read the relevant product information and estimated dispatch time
You must promptly update us if any information relating to your order changes.
4. Our Products
We sell tabletop scenery, terrain, buildings, accessories, gaming boards, painted products and bespoke commissions.
Many of our products are produced, printed, assembled, painted or finished to order.
Product photographs
We make reasonable efforts to display our products accurately. However:
Colours may appear differently depending on your screen or device
Painted and handmade products may vary slightly from photographs
Terrain texture, weathering, foliage placement and paint finish may vary
Minor layer lines, support marks or surface variations may be present on 3D-printed products
Measurements may be subject to small manufacturing tolerances
These natural or manufacturing variations will not normally be considered faults where the product remains materially consistent with its description.
Any significant differences, damage or manufacturing defects will be dealt with in accordance with our Returns and Refunds Policy and your statutory rights.
Models and accessories shown in photographs
Miniatures, vehicles, gaming mats and other accessories shown in product photographs are not included unless they are expressly listed as part of the product.
Miniatures shown for scale only and are not included.
Assembly
Some products may be supplied as separate parts and may require assembly. Product descriptions will indicate where assembly is expected.
Unless stated otherwise, glue, tools, paints, miniatures and other hobby materials are not included.
5. Scale and Compatibility
Product scales and compatibility information are provided as a general guide.
Terms such as 28mm, 32mm, heroic scale, tabletop scale or similar descriptions may be interpreted differently between manufacturers and gaming systems.
You should review the measurements and product photographs before ordering. Please contact us before purchase where exact compatibility is important.
Products ordered in a non-standard scale or altered to meet your particular requirements may be treated as custom-made goods.
6. Placing an Order
When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the products in accordance with these terms.
You will normally receive an automated email confirming that your order has been received. We reserve the right to reject or cancel an order before dispatch where:
The product is unavailable
We cannot obtain payment authorisation
The price or product information contains an obvious error
Shipping is not reasonably available to the destination
The order appears fraudulent or unlawful
You have requested something that infringes another person’s rights
We cannot safely or reasonably fulfil the requested specification
Where we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid for the cancelled product.
7. Product Availability
Products and materials are subject to availability.
We may withdraw, replace or change products without notice. This will not affect an order that we have already accepted unless we contact you and agree an alternative.
If an ordered product becomes unavailable, we may offer:
A revised completion date
A suitable alternative
A partial refund
A full refund for the unavailable product
We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
8. Prices
Product prices are displayed on our website.
Prices may change at any time, but changes will not normally affect orders already accepted.
The total amount payable, including delivery charges and any taxes collected by us, will be displayed during checkout before you place your order.
For international orders, additional import VAT, customs duties, handling fees or brokerage charges may be payable by the recipient. These charges are addressed in our Shipping Policy.
We reserve the right to correct obvious pricing errors. Where an obvious error affects an order, we will contact you and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the affected item for a refund.
9. Payment
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods available at checkout.
Payment may be taken when the order is placed, including where the product is made or printed to order.
You remain responsible for all amounts payable under your order. Products remain our property until we have received payment in full.
For bespoke commissions, we may require:
A deposit
Staged payments
Payment for design work
Payment for materials
Final payment before collection or dispatch
The payment arrangements for a commission will be confirmed in the relevant quotation or commission agreement.
10. Dispatch and Delivery
Estimated production and dispatch times vary by product and are shown on the relevant product page or quotation.
Dispatch times do not include the carrier’s delivery time.
Where an order contains products with different lead times, we may wait until all products are ready before dispatching the complete order.
Delivery arrangements, international shipping, customs charges, damaged parcels and lost parcels are covered in our Shipping Policy.
Where we arrange delivery to a consumer, responsibility for the products remains with us until they have been delivered to you or to a person or location you nominated.
11. Made-to-Order Products
A product is not necessarily bespoke simply because we print, manufacture or prepare it after receiving an order.
Standard products selected from our normal catalogue will generally remain subject to the ordinary cancellation and return rights described in our Returns and Refunds Policy.
However, products may be treated as bespoke, personalised or made to your specification where you request changes such as:
A non-standard scale
Custom dimensions
Personalised text or logos
A unique colour scheme
A customer-designed layout
Alterations to the original model or design
A one-off gaming board or diorama
A product created specifically from your instructions
Different cancellation rights may apply to these products.
12. Bespoke Commissions and Custom Requests
A bespoke commission may be governed by a separate quotation, specification, design brief or commission agreement.
Before starting significant work, we may ask you to approve matters including:
Dimensions and scale
Theme and layout
Materials
Paint colours
Finishing level
Lighting or electrical features
Delivery arrangements
Price and payment schedule
Estimated completion date
You are responsible for reviewing approvals carefully. Work completed in accordance with an approved design or specification will not be considered faulty merely because you later change your preference.
Changes to a commission
Requested changes may result in:
An additional charge
A revised completion date
Additional material or delivery costs
Changes to the agreed design
We will normally seek your agreement before carrying out additional chargeable work.
Cancellation of a commission
Please contact us immediately if you wish to cancel a commission.
Once design, production or purchasing work has started, you may be responsible for reasonable costs already incurred. These may include completed work, design time, materials ordered specifically for the project and other losses resulting directly from the cancellation.
Any cancellation terms or non-refundable deposit will be explained in the quotation or commission agreement.
This does not affect your rights where a product is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
13. Customer-Supplied Designs and Materials
Where you provide us with artwork, photographs, logos, digital files, models, names, written content or design instructions, you confirm that:
You own the relevant rights or have permission to use them
Our use of the material to fulfil your order will not infringe another person’s rights
The material is not unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory or offensive
The material does not contain malicious software or harmful code
You grant us a limited right to use the supplied material only as reasonably required to assess, produce and complete your order.
You are responsible for losses or claims resulting from material you supplied without the necessary rights or permissions.
We may refuse any commission that we reasonably believe could infringe intellectual property rights or be unlawful.
14. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
Your rights to cancel an order, return a product or request a refund are explained in our Returns and Refunds Policy.
For eligible online purchases, consumers may have a legal right to cancel without giving a reason.
This cancellation right may not apply to goods that are:
Made to the consumer’s specifications
Clearly personalised
Otherwise excluded from cancellation under applicable law
Standard catalogue products are not automatically excluded simply because they are printed or produced after the order is placed.
Nothing in these terms removes your rights in relation to products that are faulty, damaged, unsafe, not as described or not of satisfactory quality.
15. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products
Please contact us promptly if a product arrives damaged, is faulty or is not the product ordered.
We may ask you to provide:
Your order number
Details of the issue
Photographs or video of the product
Photographs of the packaging
Any other information reasonably required to investigate
Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may provide a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
You should not attempt significant repairs or modifications before contacting us, as this may affect our ability to inspect the problem or make a carrier claim.
16. Use and Care of Products
Our terrain products are intended primarily for tabletop gaming, miniature modelling, display and hobby use.
Products may include small parts, sharp points, magnets, wiring, LEDs, resin, foam, wood, plastic or other modelling materials. They should be handled appropriately and kept away from young children and animals where there is a risk of choking, injury or damage.
Products should not be:
Exposed to excessive heat or open flames
Left outdoors unless expressly described as suitable for outdoor use
Immersed in water unless specifically designed for that purpose
Used as weight-bearing furniture or play equipment
Modified electrically without appropriate knowledge and precautions
You are responsible for using, storing and transporting products appropriately.
17. Intellectual Property
The content of our website, including text, photographs, graphics, branding, layouts and original designs, is owned by or licensed to Make It Terrain Ltd.
Some physical products may be produced from third-party designs under an appropriate commercial licence. Ownership of the underlying design remains with the relevant designer or rights holder.

You must not:
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems
Introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material

Interfere with the operation or security of the website
Use the website for fraudulent or unlawful activity
Misuse our contact forms or customer communication channels
Place false, speculative or malicious orders
We may restrict access, cancel orders or report activity where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.
19. Website Availability and Accuracy
We take reasonable steps to keep our website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
We may suspend or change parts of the website for maintenance, security, operational or commercial reasons.
Website content is provided for general information. Product descriptions, prices and availability may occasionally contain errors, which we will correct when identified.
20. Reviews and Submitted Content
Where you submit a review, photograph or other content to us, you confirm that it:
Reflects your honest experience
Does not infringe another person’s rights
Is not unlawful, threatening, defamatory or discriminatory
Does not contain confidential information
Does not include malicious links or misleading promotional material
You give us permission to display, reproduce and share that content for reasonable business and promotional purposes.
We may remove submitted content where we reasonably believe it breaches these terms or applicable law.
21. Promotions and Discount Codes
Promotions and discount codes may be subject to additional conditions.
Unless stated otherwise:
Codes cannot be exchanged for cash
Codes cannot be applied retrospectively
Only one code may be used per order
Codes may exclude commissions or selected products
Promotions may be withdrawn or amended before an order is placed
Fraudulent or unauthorised use may result in cancellation
Any specific promotional terms displayed with the offer will also apply.
22. Events Outside Our Control
We will not be responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These may include:
Carrier disruption
Customs delays
Industrial action
Severe weather
Fire, flood or other natural events
Power or internet failure
Supplier or material shortages
Equipment failure despite reasonable maintenance
Government restrictions
Public health emergencies
War, civil disorder or terrorism
Where such an event materially affects your order, we will contact you and take reasonable steps to minimise the impact. Where performance becomes impossible or the delay is substantial, you may have the right to cancel the affected order.
23. Our Responsibility to Consumers
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
We supply consumer products for private use. Where you purchase as a consumer, we are not responsible for business losses such as lost profits, lost revenue, lost contracts or loss of business opportunity.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:
Death or personal injury caused by negligence
Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
Breach of your statutory consumer rights
Defective products where liability cannot legally be excluded
24. Business Customers
This section applies where you purchase wholly or mainly for the purposes of a business, trade, profession, club or commercial organisation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be responsible for:
Loss of profit
Loss of revenue
Loss of anticipated savings
Loss of business opportunity
Loss of goodwill
Indirect or consequential loss
Subject to liabilities that cannot legally be limited, our total liability arising from a business order will not normally exceed the total amount paid for the relevant order.
You are responsible for ensuring that the products are suitable for your intended commercial use and for conducting any necessary safety or compatibility assessment.
25. Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may share relevant information with payment processors, delivery companies, website providers and other service providers where necessary to process and fulfil an order.
26. Communications
We will normally contact you using the email address or telephone number supplied with your order.
You are responsible for checking that your contact details are accurate and for reviewing messages relating to your order.
Email communications are treated as received when they are sent, unless we receive a delivery failure notification.
27. Transfer of Rights
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under an order to another person without our written agreement.
We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation where this does not reduce your rights or materially affect the performance of your order.
28. Severability
Each section of these terms operates separately.
If a court or relevant authority decides that any part is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue in effect.
29. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
30. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, products or legal obligations.
The terms applying to your purchase will normally be those in force when your order was placed.
The latest version will be published on our website with the date it was updated.
31. Governing Law and Courts

If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another country, you will retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
